Save Disc Space and Save Money
Sometimes, we forget about how much “space” our companies need in the digital environment. It’s easy to see how much space our offices and hardware take up, but the invisible space we need on computers is just as important and, in a lot of circumstances, nearly as expensive.
Think about your current setup. Each computer is most likely independent from all the others under your company’s roof. Although they’re probably connected to your network, they still need to be self-sustaining in terms of the software and programs they have to run every day.
It doesn’t take an IT expert to understand that this means spending a lot of money on your computers to ensure that they can support those requirements. Most people hardly think it’s worth discussing, though. To them, there would be no way to run their company without those software-laden computers, so they just shoulder the cost with little to no complaints.
Introduce diskless LAN booting software and you’ll soon find that your IT budget has a lot more breathing room. By storing the software your company needs on just one computer, the rest of them are going to be far more affordable to own and run.
Furthermore, should you find that, down the road, your individual computers all of a sudden need certain platforms added to them, there’s now more space for accommodating it.
